From This Pastor's Heart

Greetings Children of God,

I welcome you to Smith Temple Church of God in Christ (COGIC). It is my prayer that we may be able to assist you in your journey with the Lord to inherit the Kingdom.

It has been placed in my spirit, and my heart, to be aware of and sensitive to, the wholistic needs of God's children. I have experienced that it is not enough to teach and preach the Word of God to people but, we must also have them experience the Living Word in action. People in and out of the Church must experience more than believer's "talking the talk", but also "walking the walk".

Many people know the Bible but, do they understand the Bible? I am moved by Jeremiah 3:15, “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” I truly believe that as a Pastor, I have a responsibility to teach the Word of God in a manner that provides an opportunity for the believer to move with confidence because their faith is increased through, not only knowledge but, understanding.

Led by God, it is my desire, to be used, along with other believers to:

To spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
To increase the body of Christ through the ministries of Smith Temple COGIC.
To provide a place where people can learn to become self-sufficient in life and their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
To provide mentoring to people that prepares them for the work of the Lord and how to be safe and strong in the world.
To develop a church building model for other churches and ministries.

I pray that a mutual relationship will be developed whereby we can assist each other in our growth, visions and, accomplishments.
